23-01 2022 Belzoni Drainage Improvement Project #14235

The City of Belzoni is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

2022 Belzoni Drainage Improvement Project MCWI MDEQ Project No. 495-1-SW-5.6

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Belzoni City Hall located at 102 W. Jackson Street, Belzoni, MS where Bids will be received, until October 20, 2023, at 12 noon local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

The Project includes the following Work:

The project includes replacing motors on the stormwater pumpstation at Price Street along with site improvements, replacing the pump and motor on the stormwater pumpstation at Castleman Street, control modifications and site improvements which include pavement rehabilitation on Castleman street and replacing a sluice gate at the stormwater outfall at the Yazoo River at Castleman Street.

The Project has an expected duration of 180 days.

Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.

Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Plans, contract documents and proposal forms are on file for public inspection in the office of the Belzoni City Hall, 102 W. Jackson Street, Belzoni, MS-39038 and in the office of the Engineer, Cornerstone Engineering, LLC (Attn: Mauricka McKenzie, P.E.), 600 E. Northside Drive, Suite A, Clinton, MS 39056 (601-473-2403). Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities and equipment, material, and/or supply needs.  Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 requires that the City and contractors participating in CDBG projects give opportunities for job training and employment to lower income residents of the Section 3 area that is described as the City of Belzoni, MS. Section 3 also requires that “to the maximum extent feasible” contracts for work in connection with Section 3 covered projects be awarded to business concerns that are located in or owned in substantial part by persons residing in the Section 3 area.

Pre-bid Conference
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on September 26, 2023 at 10 am at City Hall Board Room, 102 W. Jackson Street, Belzoni, MS 39038. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not required.
